Delhi Hospital and Rural Health Clinic health care providers wish to announce that we are now able to offer bone densitometry testing for any patient who may be at risk for Osteoporosis. We have recently purchased a state of the art lunar prodigy advance DXA system manufactured by GE Healthcare.

In addition to acquiring the new bone densitometry machine, Delhi Hospital and Rural Health Clinic are please to announce that Dr. Paul Grandon has recently attended the International Society for Clinical Densitometry's Clinician course and has been recognized as a Certified Clinical Densitometrist. Certification in bone densitometry is a demonstration of proficiency and is a requirement for some insurance companies and HMO's.

Indications for bone mineral density testing include women age 65 and older, post menopausal women under age 65 with risk factors, men age 70 and older, any adult who has had a fragility fracture (any fracture occurring from a fall at normal standing height), any adults with a disease or condition associated with low bone mass or bone loss, any adults taking medications associated with low hone mass or bone loss, and anyone who needs monitoring due to being on treatment for previously diagnosed osteoporosis. If you feel that you are in one of these categories, please contact your doctor and ask him/her whether bone mineral density testing would be indicated for you.
